Religion:

Living Like Christ in Christ (Our Holy Faith Series). Study of a saint.

Phonics:

Modern Curriculum Press Word Study F Workbook (copyright 1998); structure Word Study. It is recommended that students who are having difficulty with reading and phonics order the Professor Phonics supplemental packet. See shipping list for complete list of books included.

Reading:

Developing skills and reading comprehension: Catholic Faith and Freedom Readers.

Mathematics:

Equations Are Easy text represents the traditional, thoroughly tested approach in teaching school math. Introduction to equations, integers, rational numbers and proportion. Saxon Math 54, optional math course for fifth grade. Comprehensive review of all major operations and introduction to word problems; constant review of every concept. Arithmetic Skills, optional math course for fourth grade through the seventh grade. Course focuses on arithmetic computation and problem solving (Amsco text).

English:

Catholic Voyages in English series. Composition, grammar. Student begins quarterly book reports.

Spelling: Selected words based on fifth-grade texts (our own Catholic materials).

Science:

Living things: tissues, organs, systems, earth’s atmosphere, planet earth, matter, energy (Scott Foresman).

Social Studies:

Our Country (Catholic text; American history).

​

Penmanship:

Instruction in legible handwriting; Catholic series.
